What the roster does (and doesn’t) show

Booking data takes time to move from the intake desk to the public roster. The line is staffed around the clock for custody questions, so calling at 11 PM is the same as calling at 9 AM for this purpose.

Bond is not set at booking. It’s a long night, and waiting is the hard part. In Indiana, a first appearance before a judge — where bond is formally set — typically happens within 24 to 72 hours of booking. Calling the Sheriff tonight confirms whether the person is in custody and can tell you when the first appearance is scheduled. It will not tell you the bond amount, because that number doesn’t exist yet.
